What is 360 Degree Feedback?
360 degree feedback is a way of providing an employee (usually a manager) with feedback on his or her performance.
Typically, between eight and twelve people, including the subject themselves, their line manager, their peers and direct reports, complete a questionnaire which covers a number of aspects of the subject's performance. In the case of the peers and direct reports, the questionnaire is completed anonymously. The feedback is collated and the subject is provided with a report which summarises their strengths and highlights development opportunities. That report provides the basis for a Personal Development Plan.
