Employee Engagement Surveys

Many organisations recognise that employee engagement is one of the critical factors behind corporate performance and competitive advantage, and an increasing number are using surveys as a means of measuring engagement. However, they often have three questions:

  • What exactly is employee engagement?
  • How do we measure it?
  • How do we identify the factors which most affect the level of engagement?

Over the last five years Digital Opinion has worked with many clients across a range of industrial sectors to develop an Engagement Model and approach to employee surveys which answers these questions. Highly flexible in the way they can be tailored to the different needs of individual clients, the principal outputs of these engagement surveys are:

  • A practical, easy-to-understand, and benchmarkable measure of engagement for the organisation as a whole, for each business unit or for each department.
  • A hierarchy of key drivers - the issues which have the biggest impact on engagement in a specific organisation.

By identifying the key drivers we help our clients to determine the policies and programmes which are most likely to yield the greatest return in terms of increasing engagement.

Clients who have adopted our model and used our approach to engagement surveys over several years have seen a real difference. Engagement has steadily increased and employees have begun to embrace a real performance culture. Many now use our Engagement Index as a key performance indicator throughout their business.
