Business Development Manager
Digital Opinion is a specialist research company which helps some of the world's best known and most highly regarded companies to design and conduct a broad range of employee surveys and research programmes. Our expertise enables them to gain key insights into many different aspects of employee and organisational performance, and to design research-based actions and programmes which make a real difference to their business.
Following a period of sustained growth we now need to recruit another business development manager.
The principal aim of the role is to win new business. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in sales/business development and will bring energy, resourcefulness and networking ability.
Principal Accountabilities
- The achievement of new business sales revenue targets
- Accurate and timely reporting of actual sales performance against agreed targets
- Identifying and developing new business sales opportunities
- Lead generation, follow-up and database maintenance
- Call planning and carrying out an agreed number of visits with clients and prospects
- New business sales pipeline development and reporting
- Contributing to quarterly sales and marketing planning activity
- Attending trade shows and other marketing events
Key Challenges
- Responsible for the delivery of all new business sales activity and performance targets
- Raising the profile of the company in both existing and new target markets
- The ongoing delivery of customer service excellence, and the identification and recommendation of best practice in this area
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the sales function within the business.
Education
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent preferably higher level qualifications
- Sales and business development experience in a B2B environment
- Computer skills - MS Office
- Clean driving license is essential
